Growing directly from my work as a basket maker, these sculptural woven forms reflect, and are an expression of the beauty I experience in my daily life. The utilitarian baskets that I make are meant to bring tactile sculpture into the hands of the user,and though captivated since childhood by painting, sculpture , and architecture , I was many years into my basket making career before I saw the woven form as a vehicle to create the sculptural forms and painterly surfaces that swim in my imagination. I understand now that the possibilities are unlimited
